The problem
Goods in was tracked on paper and in inboxes. There was no reliable view of open orders, partial deliveries, or proof that something had actually arrived.
The approach
- Ingests scanned purchase order packs and keeps only the purchase order pages, ignoring requisitions and email chains.
- Line-level receiving with delivered, rejected and outstanding quantities; part-received lines show only what remains.
- Photographic proof of delivery attached to each receipt.
- Dashboard of open orders, orders raised this month and deliveries due this week.
The outcome
- Hand-drawn wireframe to working application in days.
- Moving to production hosting next.
What they say
Goods in ran on paper and memory. Mike built a tracker that reads our scanned POs, both layouts, handles part deliveries and rejections, and keeps a photo as proof against every receipt. Chasing a delivery is a search now rather than a conversation.
